Tate Folk Art Exhibition at Compton Verney

I missed the Folk Art exhibition at the Tate this summer, so was really pleased when heard it had travelled to Compton Verney (in Warwickshire) and we could view it there. We hadn't visited CV before and were blown away with its setting and the fantastic building and exhibition space.

So much to see on display from Trench Art, Sailors Wool Work, embroidered flour sacks, figureheads, shop signs, military quilts, the amazing embroidery portraiture of Mary Linwood,

and these gorgeous pieces of paper and fabric collage by George Smart.

I couldn't take any photos of the Tate Folk Art exhibition, but here are some of other Folk Art exhibits housed at ComptonVerney.

A top day out and definitely recommended if you get the chance to go, super cafe and restaurant and lovely walks too.  (Go on the guided tour for fascinating insights into the individual pieces).
